On a breeding farm, a good stallion
is worth his weight in gold,
but the mares are the heart
and are frequently overlooked.

HCM War Paints Summer Sonata, 4/19/95, 33.5", black pinto, Landrys War Paint x RLBs Indian Summer

A top halter and driving mare, this elegant black pinto mare does it all! Sonata was inducted into AMHR's Hall of Fame in the Halter, Pleasure and Roadster divisions in 1998, one of only four horses at that time to be inducted into more than two divisions. She earned all the points for both Pleasure and Roadster divisions in only one show season and earned many AMHR National All Star awards that same year. Sired by Landrys War Paint and going back to Chianti on the top side, on the dam's side Sonata goes to the famous black pinto X Calibers Little Navajo, who was the 1988 AMHA Reserve National Grand Champion Stallion, and further back to the famous Bond Showboy.

Bred only sparingly, Sonata has produced a bay roan pintaloosa colt by Brewers Dynamo DreamMaker (see Eldorado Dreams Hot Summer Night) and a buckskin filly (see Eldorado Easy Elegance) by Little Kings Buck Easy (a palomino Boones Little Buckeroo son). She will be bred to Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai for a 2004 foal.

Eldorado Tuxedos Upping The Ante, 6/4/97, 34.0", lilac dun pinto, Kamelots Tuxedo x Minnesota Miniatures Calander Girl

Sired by three-time Performance Horse of the Year Kamelots Tuxedo, this lightly marked lilac dun pinto mare has all the action of her famous sire. Shown only on a limited basis as a junior mare, Ante has several Grand Champion Mare awards to her credit, and placed high in both futurity and open classes at Nationals. She could easilly have followed in her famous sire's footsteps, but we felt there was more value in using her in our breeding program.

Her sire, Kamelots Tuxedo, is one of the most decorated horses in AMHR history. He was one of the first of only a handful of recipients that attained three Hall of Fame awards, in Halter, Pleasure Driving and Roadster, and he is the only horse ever to be awarded Performance Horse of the Year more than once — and he did it three times in a row!

Ante currently has a bay pinto 2003 colt (see Eldorado Recall The Dream) on her side, sired by Brewers Dynamo DreamMaker, and will be bred to Little Kings Seattle Supreme for a 2004 foal.

Little Kings Bucker Fly, 3/29/87, 31.75", bay, Boones Little Buckeroo x Komokos Dainty Doll

An own daughter of Boones Little Buckeroo, the 1987 AMHA National Grand Champion Stallion, Bucker Fly was National Top 10 in Senior Mares 30-32" while owned by Little King Farm. Elegant, with a beautiful head, this mare looks larger than she is. She produces as well or even better than she is, the goal of any breeding program. Her daughter Little Kings Sissy Buck Supreme was the AMHA Reserve National Champion Youth Senior Mare 7 & Under in 2000.

Bucker Fly was purchased to incorporate into our breeding program, specifically to use in line breeding on the Boones Little Buckeroo/Gold Melody Boy lines. She will be bred to the cremello stallion Grosshills Rogues Mountain Man for a 2004 foal.

Buck Ons Impressive Diva, 5/10/98, 34.0", black, Little Kings Buck On Broadway x Jandts Impressive Dancer

A very special solid black mare, as a youngster Diva was one of the three fillies known as "The Pointer Sisters." Buck Ons Victoria Secret was AMHR's 1998 National Grand Champion Weanling Mare and Buck Ons Dangerous Curves was AMHR's 1999 Reserve National Champion Senior Mare. Her half brother, Buck Ons Show Me The Bucks was the 1999 AMHR Reserve National Grand Champion Stallion to our own Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai, as well as National Champion Junior Stallion, coming from the weanling class!

Diva's sire, Little Kings Buck On Broadway, was AMHR's Reserve National Champion Get of Sire in 1999, and he has produced a host of champions, reserve champions and top tens. With his get now also winning in the driving arena, it is easy to see that he is an all round producer.

We purchased Diva to add to our already "impressive" lineup of broodmares tying into our Buckeroo/Gold Melody Boy linebreeding program and adding the Rowdy and Egyptian King elements. With B.O.B., Buckeroo and Rowdy behind her, this mare should produce beautiful, athletic foals. She is sure to be a star at Eldorado Training Center!

Diva has a 2003 grulla (it appears at this time, anyway) colt on her side (see Eldorado Diva foal) by the cremello stallion Grosshills Rogues Mountain Man, and will be bred to Little Kings Turbo Buck for a 2004 foal.

While she doesn't have an extensive pedigree, Butterfly goes to some of the "good old" bloodlines — Shady Acres Rusty is behind many of the top horses and bloodlines today. She is a golden palomino mare that has produced beautiful, elegant and refined foals. Butterfly will be bred to Little Kings Seattle Supreme for a 2004 foal.

Kamelots Bet On The Bay, 7/7/94, 32.0", bay, Ahrens Little Bubba X Kamelots Miss Beauty

This bay mare has all the action — or more! — of her famous half-brother, Kamelots Tuxedo. On her sire's side, she goes back to Chocos Little Specks Red Boy and Chocolatico. She has a beautiful, high head with a long neck, level topline and lots of action. Her 2000 filly by Bonsai (see Eldorado Bonsai Bet Me A Buck) will make a superb halter and driving mare. Betta will be bred to Grosshills Rogues Mountain Man, a cremello Glenns Southern Rogue son, for a buckskin foal in 2004.

DD Patty Faye, 7/10/86, 32.5", silver chestnut, Winks Jingles x sorrel

A fancy silver chestnut mare with high action and super conformation Patty goes back to old foundation bloodlines on her sire's side — Iowas Little Kernel and Winks Decision. Shown only a few times as an older mare, she was several times a Grand Champion mare, proving that qualify is oftentimes more important than length of pedigree.

Her 1999 filly, Eldorado Tuxedos Escapade, did very well at AMHR Nationals as a weanling and yearling, placing high Top Tens in both futurity and halter in huge classes. We repeated that cross again, and have kept a silver chestnut gelding for our show string. We are so happy with that cross that we will repeat the cross to Kamelots Tuxedo again for a 2004 ffoal.

HCM Navajos Silhouette, 5/7/93, 30.5", black, X Calibers Little Navajo x Lucky Four Domino Fancy

Silhouette’s sire, the famous black pinto X Calibers Little Navajo, was the 1988 AMHA Reserve National Grand Champion Stallion, and she goes further back to the famous Bond Showboy. Her 1997 filly, Eldorado Dark Crystal, was AMHR Champion All-Star Weanling, and Dark Crystal and Silhouette were the All Star Champion Mare and Foal the same year. In 2002 she produced Eldorado Bonsai Buckerella, an outstanding buckskin filly sired by Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai. Silhouette will be bred back to Bonsai for a 2004 foal.

Korbel’s sire is Little Bits Crown Royal, a bay roan driving horse supreme (deceased). We consider ourselves lucky to have been able to add two of only three Crown Royal daughters to our broodmare band. Crown Royal goes back to Tuckaways Little Fella, as well as to Chiefs Hershey Bar and Starlites Chief, well known appaloosas.  Korbel's dam's pedigree is heavily Soat and Komoko. Korbel’s first filly for us was a palomino pinto. This sorrel mare had a gorgeous upheaded palomino Bonsai colt in 2000 (see Eldorado Bonsai Pass The Buck) and a lovely Turbo colt in 2002 (Eldorado Turbo Power). Korbel is bred back to Little Kings Turbo Buck for a 2003 foal, and will be bred to Brewers Dynamo DreamMaker for a 2004 foal.

This small blue roan mare has one blue eye, just like her dam. Magic and her dam were AMHR National All Star Champion Mare and Foal and Magic was the AMHR National All Star Champion Weanling Mare in 1998, as well as earning two Grand Champion Mare awards out of the weanling class. Going to Flying W Farms Little Blue Boy on the top and to such horses as Dels Little Man and Dell Teras Minute Man on the bottom, we are pleased to incorporate Magic into our broodmare band.

Unfortunately, we lost Magic's 2003 palomino pinto filly by Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai, but we will repeat the same cross for 2004.

Kobecks Little Trixie, 5/19/93, 30.0", blue roan appaloosa, Pauls Little Chief Penny x Kobecks Pixie

A pretty-headed, small and correct mare going to Orion Light Vant Huttenest through L&D Scout, we purchased Trixie to breed to our pintaloosa stallion, Brewers Dynamo DreamMaker, line breeding on the Orion cross. With his movement and background, combined with her excellent action — not to mention the color opportunities — we look forward to extremely athletic driving horses from this cross. NFCs Sugar Cookie, 4/11/92, 30.0", red roan, NFC Sugar Boy x RSC Cocoa 2

We bought to this mare to incorporate Gold Melody Boy through Roan Ranger into our breeding program, and we have not been disappointed. Sired by the famous NFCs Sugar Boy (AMHAs 1986 National Grand Champion Junior Stallion and the 1988 National Champion Senior Stallion), Sugar Cookie was in foal to FWF Little Wardance when we bought her. We kept the bay roan filly from that cross, Eldorado Wardance Full Moon Fever, to eventually incorporate into our program. She has also been bred to Little Kings Buck Easy (see Eldorado Buck Bolero) and currently has a 2003 bay filly by Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai on her side (see Eldorado Bonsai Buckin Amazing). She will be bred to Eldorado Russian Roulette (a Little Kings White Russian son) for a 2004 foal.

Tabasco was in foal to National Grand Champion Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too when we bought her, and that filly, Eldorado BTU In A Heartbeat, will be incorporated into our breeding program. Tabasco was purchased specifically to linebreed to our Blue Boy son, Flying W Farms Blue Dynasty, although she will also be bred to other of our stallions in future. Her 2002 colt by Dynasty (see Eldorado Back Street Blues) has his beautiful Arab style head and neck, as well as the flat topline and great conformation of both his sire and dam. Tabasco is in foal for 2003 to Flying W Farms Blue Dynasty and will be bred to Grosshill Rogues Mountain Man for a 2004 foal.

Little Kings Madame Sphinx, 5/5/97, 30.5", bay roan pinto, Stouts Big Mac x Stouts Snow Anna

This bay roan pinto goes seven times in four generations to Stouts Mister Pride and twice to Stouts Mona Lisa. We loved her dam, but couldn't buy her, so bought this oh-so-similar daughter instead. The Stout/Buckeroo cross is one of Little Kings "magic" crosses, so we bought Sphinx to bring into a similar program. She will be bred to the cremello stallion Grosshill Rogues Mountain Man for a 2004 foal.

Little Kings Spring Pink Supreme, 7/9/89, 27.0", red dun, Komokos Little King Supreme x lITTLE kINGS pINK lACE

Everybody loves Pinky. We were just lucky enough to be there when Little King decided to let her go. A double-bred King Supreme daughter, we bought her to breed to our "Buckeroo bred" horses (the Little King "magic" cross) as well as to outbred stallions to bring back into the line. She's tiny, but has great proportion of leg to body, and a pretty head to boot! She has no problem getting in foal or foaling. She will be bred to Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai for a 2004 foal.

Boones Little Blue Bird, 7/18/86, 32.5", smoky black, Chocos Little Specks Red Boy x Tinkerbelle

While registered as a blue roan, our best guess, based on what she has produced, is that Blue Bird is really a smoky black. Since her pedigree is basically unknown and/or unregistered, it's virtually impossible to gather information from there. We bought her based on her conformation and production history. For example, her 1998 black filly by Little Kings White Russian was one of the high selling horses at the 1999 Event sale. Her first foal for us, also by Little Kings White Russian (a cremello Buckeroo son) (see Eldorado Russian Roulette) is stunning — long legged, smooth, gorgeous head, level topline with a great hip. While her 2002 filly by Little Kings Turbo Buck is on the sale list, she'll stay on the show string with National Champion potential written all over her! We kept Blue Bird open for 2003, but will breed her back to Little Kings Turbo Buck for a 2004 foal.

Eldorado BTU In A Heartbeat, 3/28/00, 00.0", bay, Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too x Philia Blazes Tabasco Bay

This bay mare with a heart on her forehead is sired by BTU, the famous buckskin AMHA 1996 National Grand Champion Stallion. Her dam's sire is Flying W Blue Boys Blaze, who also sired Philia Blazes Joe Dandy, the 2000 AMHA National Champion Stallion 32-34". Blaze is double bred Flying W Farms Little Blue Boy.  Hearbeat is very upheaded and alert, with the long legs to make a driving mare.

Heartbeat was only shown twice as a junior mare. Her very first show was AMHR Nationals in 2000 where, out of a strong class of around 45 horses, she placed 3rd. In January 2002 she was shown at the National Western Stock Show Miniature Horse Show, where she was Champion Junior Mare and Grand Champion Mare.

While she is on the sales list, she is of such out-standing quality that she will go into the broodmare band until such time as she is sold. She will be bred to Kamelots Tuxedo for a 2004 foal.

Eldorado Scouts Hot Gossip, 4/18/00, 00.0", black, L & D Scout x Kobecks Trixie

By L & D Scout out of an L & D Scout granddaughter, this cross was bound to be good — and it was. We looked forward with anticipation to showing her, but Gossip had a hard beginning to her life. As a suckling, she got a spider bite on her back that resulted in a large white scar. Then, as a yearling, she got tied up in twine that left her slightly crippled in her rear. Having raised her, we are confident that these are environmental changes to her body, not genetic, and have no hesitation in breeding her. As we bought her dam with the intent to linebreed her to Brewers Dynamo DreamMaker, our pintaloosa Orion grandson, crossing Gossip to him will intensify this breeding. Gossip is slow maturing, so we may not breed her until 2004 for a 2005 foal, but whenever we breed her it will be to Brewers Dynamo DreamMaker

Eldorado Bonsai Bet Me A Buck, 4/27/00, 35.5" (AMHR only), bay, Little Kings Buckeroo Bonsai x Kamelots Bet On The Bay

For those who breed B division horses, this mare would make an awesome addition to a broodmare band after you take her to Nationals and let her clean up there. She will make a beautiful driving mare — after all, her sire WAS AMHR Performance Horse of the Year! — as well as a great halter horse. She has the potential to win BOTH Halter and Performance Horse of the Year, and maybe a National Grand title to take home, too! Until someone takes that opportunity, Bet Me will stay on our show string and be started driving.

Eldorado War Dance Full Moon Fever, 5/1/00, 00.0", bay roan pinto, Flying W Farms Little Wardance x NFCs Sugar Cookie

Fever's dam was in foal when we bought her, and what a deal when we foaled out this little bundle. While small (she'll probably mature around 30"), she has glamour galore. She has a pretty, dishy Arab type head with a big eye and cheek and a tiny teacup muzzle with wide, flaring nostrils. Balance that on top of a long, hooky neck tied into great shoulders and level topline — and THEN add leg action where her knees practically hit her chin! And the back action matches with no artificial enhancements!

Due to time constraints, Fever was shown only a couple of times. She showed at AMHA Central Regionals in 2000 as a weanling and placed 3rd in a large class, and she placed in her huge class at AMHR Nationals. She will stay in my broodmare band until she sells. Fever will be bred to Eldorado Russian Roulette for a 2004 foal.
